2026/27 New Coach Announcement

πŸ“£ Big News for the 2026/27 Season! πŸ“£

We’re pumped to welcome Tyler Turcotte as the new Head Coach of the NYRJRA next season!

Tyler joins the organization, bringing extensive U18 AAA and high-performance coaching experience within the OMHA and GTHL development pathways, along with firsthand experience at the junior and collegiate levels.

Supported by his wife, Mackenzie, and their three children, Turcotte has built a strong reputation as a detail-driven, development-focused coach with a proven track record of success. He served two seasons (2021–23) as Head Coach of the Oshawa Generals U18 AAA program, where he led the team to consistent playoff success, highlighted by an OMHA Championship and gold medal in the 2022–23 season.

Turcotte also spent two seasons (2022–24) as an Assistant Coach with the Stouffville Spirit, gaining valuable junior-level experience and insight into player progression at the next level. Most recently, he was the Head Coach of the North Shore Whitecaps U18 AAA program, guiding the team to an OMHA silver medal during the 2024–25 season.

A former OJHL player himself, Turcotte went on to play U SPORTS hockey at the University of Toronto before finishing his playing career professionally in the SPHL. That experience gives him a strong understanding of the development pathway and the demands players face as they progress to higher levels.

Across his coaching career, Turcotte has led teams to three OMHA Championship appearances, earning one gold and one silver medal, while consistently preparing players for junior hockey and beyond.

β€œI’m extremely excited for the opportunity to lead this program,” said Turcotte. β€œThis organization has a strong history of success, and my goal is to help bring it back to where it has been competitive, respected, and committed to developing players the right way. I’m looking forward to building a culture of accountability, hard work, and pride in the jersey.”
