Aurora’s Board deadly on offense in 5-2 win against North York

The Aurora Tigers relied on the scoring touch of Drake Board, who netted two goals, to beat the North York Rangers, 5-2.

Board’s tallies came short handed at 11:44 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Aurora and 19:06 into the third to make the score 5-2 Aurora.

Aurora pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 28 penalty minutes.

The Tigers forced North York goalie Gianluca Baggetta to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Others who scored for Aurora included Noah Delmas, Cameron Morrison, and Liam Neuman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Aurora received assists from Keaton Ratcliffe, Michael Laidley, and Eric Williams, who each chipped in one.

The Rangers were helped by Will Reilly, who had one goal. Reilly scored on the power play 3:04 into the first period to make the score 1-1. North York had gotten the advantage when Aurora’s Sam Quaranta was sent off for boarding. Gabriel Valenzuela assisted on the tally. North York additionally got points from Valenzuela, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Zachary Fung, who had one.

Marcus Semiao rejected 19 shots on goal for the Tigers. Aurora registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Gianluca Baggetta made 26 saves for the Rangers on 30 shots. North York incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
