The Rangers dominated large portions of time, but came one shot short of victory as the Blades took a dramatic Game 2 in Oakville by the score of 5-4 on Saturday.

Liam Kerins led the North York attack with three points, including a game-tying goal on a one-timer from Corey Kalk with 44 seconds remaining in regulation.

Blades’ regular season leading scorer Jonah Renouf scored the game-winner at 4:42 of overtime.

Kalk also added a three-point night after reaching the same total in Game 1 on Wednesday.

John Dean’s team came back twice from being down two goals and were superb the penalty kill, forcing Oakville to go 0-for-7 in the game.

John Carpino had the other goal for the Rangers.

With the series now tied at one, the two teams will head back to the Herb for Game 3 on Sunday afternoon. Puck drops at 3 p.m.
