Corey Kalk has been named OJHL Southwest Conference Gong Show Player of the Month for December.

The Thornhill native had multi-point outings in every game except for one, amassing 20 points in nine games. With four goals in three games at the Central Canada Cup All-Star challenge, he won player of the game honours twice.

He along with Rangers line-mate John Carpino led the South Division in scoring.

Kalk currently sits third in league scoring with 64 points in 37 games and has been on the score-sheet in 16 of North York’s last 17 games.

Thus far, the second-year forward has eclipsed his rookie season totals in every offensive category, scoring 13 more goals, 20 more assists, six more power-play goals and 14 more power-play assists than last season. He has also scored a short-handed marker, something he did not do at all in 2011-12.
