Corey Kalk to battle for Team Canada East Spot

The North York Rangers are extremely proud to announce that forward Corey Kalk has been named to the Team Canada East selection camp roster.

Hockey Canada announced on Tuesday the 60 players that will attempt to compete for Canada East in the 2012 World Junior A Challenge in Yarmouth, N.S. from Nov. 5-11.

The camp, that includes players from teams in Tier II leagues across Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes, will go from Oct. 28-31 at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence in Etobicoke.

After 15 games, Kalk leads the Rangers with eight goals and 22 points. The Thornhill native been held off the score sheet only three times all season thus far, and is currently riding a six-game point scoring streak.

A second year player with the Rangers, the 18 year old is only nine points shy of the total he hit all season last year, in 27 less games.
