Former North York Junior ‘A’ and minor hockey forward Luke Kutkevicius has been named a ‘C’ List Prospect by the the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Bureau ahead of the 2016 NHL Draft.
Kutkevicius, 17, scored 16 points in 50 Ontario Junior Hockey League games with the Rangers last season.
The Toronto native impressed for North York’s ‘AAA’ minor midget 1998s, earning himself a second round selection by the Ontario Hockey League’s Mississauga Steelheads in the 2014 OHL Draft.
In 21 contests with the Steelheads thus far in the 2015-16 campaign, Kutkevicius has one goal and seven points to go along with six penalty minutes.
Six players currently in the OJHL were listed by NHL Central Scouting Wednesday, including Josh Dickinson, Matthew Thom, and Matthew Cairns from the Georgetown Raiders, Jack Jeffers from the Burlington Cougars, Luke Keenan from the Whitby Fury, and Sam Dunn from the Cobourg Cougars.
