North York, Ontario – The North York Rangers are pleased to announce that forward Jesse Tucker, defencemen Harrison Rees and Peter Muzyka and goaltender Jett Alexander will represent the team at the upcoming CJHL Top Prospects game in Mississauga, Ontario.
Tucker, 17, has been one of the Rangers’ most electric players in his first full season. Tucker was an AP a year ago who earned a role on the team for the playoffs, recording three points in five games against the Oakville Blades. Tucker is a fast, aggressive player who makes life miserable for his opponents by chasing them down, stealing the puck and scoring at will, recording 11 goals and 29 points in 35 games as a rookie.
Rees, 17, has been very impressive in his first OJHL campaign. Already committed to the University of Connecticut, Rees has posted a goal and seven points in 34 games while playing in all situations, including special teams. Very few players at Harrison’s age get the opportunities he gets, but as a poised youngster with a lot of potential, he’s proven he deserves his opportunities.
Muzyka, 17, has caught the eye of NHL scouts in his second year in the league. A graduate of the Toronto Titans minor midget program, Muzyka is a Cornell University commit with an intimidating presence on the ice. One of the most feared blueliners in the league, Muzyka 17, has caught the eye of NHL scouts in his second year in the league. A graduate of the Toronto Titans minor midget program, Muzyka is a Cornell University commit with an intimidating presence on the ice and a leader off the ice.
Alexander, 18, has had a year to remember. Considered one of the best goalies in the OJHL, Alexander has posted nine wins and boasts a .932 SV% in 18 games played. Last year, after starting the season with Georgetown, Alexander returned home to the Rangers, where he’s been near the top in all goalie stats in his first season as an OJHL starting goalie. Alexander was also named to the NHL’s most recent Central Scouting Watch List for the upcoming draft, set to take place in Dallas, Texas this June. Alexander recently played in every game for Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge, putting in an excellent effort in each game.
The four Rangers players will represent the Rangers on Team East, made up of players from the CCHL, MHL, NOJHL, OJHL, and QJHL. The game will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. ET in Mississauga, Ont., at Port Credit Memorial Arena.
