Corey Kalk became the first Ranger of the season to hit 20 goals as he netted two, including the overtime winner, to give North York a 4-3 win at St. Mike’s.

The Thornhill native stepped around a defender at the Rangers blue line, headed in on a two-on-one with John Carpino, and then banged in the rebound off of Carpino’s initial shot at 3:23 of overtime.

Liam Kerins continued his trend of producing well against St. Mike’s, putting up three assists and giving him eight points in three games against the Buzzers thus far.

Carpino opened the scoring at 13:31 of the first period when his high-slot wrist shot banked in off of a defender.

Ryan Kinsella then one-timed past Adrian Ignagni in the St. Mike’s net five minutes into the second period, chasing the veteran goaltender.

After the Buzzers cut the lead to two late in the middle frame, Kalk sniped a picture perfect wrist shot into the top part of the net on the power play 3:51 into the third.

St. Mike’s fired back twice late in regulation to force Kalk’s eventual dramatic winner.
