Jeremie Lintner had a standout game with 26 saves, and the North York Rangers beat the Milton Icehawks 4-1.
Louis Kereakou had a great game for North York, netting two goals. Kereakou scored on the power play at 10:25 into the second period to make the score 2-0 North York and again while 18:57 into the third to make the score 4-1 North York.
The Rangers stifled Milton’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. North York kept the Icehawks’ goalie busy throughout the game, and Marcus Semiaomade 39 saves on 43 shots.
Others who scored for North York included Keegan Blasby and Grayden Gottschalk, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Ryan Hunt, Michael Morgan, Ryan Takamatsu, and Nick Zanette, who each chipped in one and Tyler Currie and Ted Hunt, who contributed two each.
Milton was led by Devin Pierce, who scored the team’s only goal. Pierce scored 2:55 into the third period to make the score 2-1 North York. Joseph Teofilo picked up the assist.
The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Icehawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
