The North York rangers extended their winning streak to 13 games with a 4-0 shutout victory over the Newmarket Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon at the Hebert H. Carnegie Arena.

The Rangers opened the scoring again in this one. Defencemen Harrison Rees waited behind the next for a couple seconds in order to hit Austin Brimmer on the right side of centre ice. That pass created a three on one for North York. Brimmer and Tyler Flack, who was the trailer, made three quick passes by before the veteran potting in his 10th goal of the season just over two minutes in.

On Friday night against the Stouffville spirits Ashton Stockie recorded three points and he was at it again. Rees hit Stockie between the defence for a breakaway and the centre made no mistake with less than three minutes to go in the first.

Grayson Gottschalk joined in on the action four and a half minutes into the seond. Off a bad line change by the Hurricanes during a penalty kill, Fedor Rudakov joined the rush and hit the captain back door and It was enough to beat diving Kristian Hufsky to go by three.

Ashton Stockie added in another one at 12:35 in the third period to seal the deal. The 19-year-old has recorded five points (four goals, an assist) in two games since his return to the lineup.

Goalie Jett Alexander made 29 saves for his league-high seventh shutout and 18th victory of the season.

The Rangers (19-1-0-3) have five days off before they play again. This time they travel to Mississauga to battle the Chargers (6-11-1-3). Mississauga is the only team to beat North York in regulation this season. Puck drop is set for 7:35 p.m.
