Davis Park scored twice on Sunday night as the North York Rangers grabbed their sixth straight victory with a 3-0 victory over the St Michael’s Buzzers.

The first period was very even between the two squads, with neither team finding a way to score. North York led the first period in shots with 11, topping St. Mike’s by one chance. The biggest stop of the game came midway through when Rangers puckstopper Colby Muise made a huge toe save on Ty Jackson, keeping the game scoreless.

At 5:24, an unassisted effort would give North York the first goal of the game. Davis Park took advantage of a bouncing, loose puck in front of Cosmin Lazzarino, knocking it over the goal line to make it 1-0 For the home team.

With just over two minutes left in the game, Park, who was hungry all night long, scored his second goal of the contest. This time, Tyler Flack won the faceoff and got the puck to Park, who didn’t hesitate to send the puck over Lazzarino and in to make it 2-0.

Nick Campoli would score the last goal of the contest for the Rangers, with the Vegas Golden Knights potting an empty netter. It would cap off a great game for the Rangers, who gave the Buzzers a lot to deal with on Sunday.

Muise was the star of the show, making multiple huge pad saves for his best performance of the year. It was good enough to secure his first OJHL shutout thanks to a 27-save night. It also helped secure his first win on home ice, with the Rangers holding on for the 3-0 victory.

The Rangers will begin their second 3-in-3 weekend of the season next Friday when they travel out to St. Michael’s Arena in a rematch with the Buzzers. North York’s next home game is next Sunday against Georgetown, a 3:00 PM start at the Herb.
