North York, Ontario – The North York Rangers are excited to announce that forward Nick Campoli has been drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League.
Campoli, 18, was easily one of the most exciting players to watch in the OJHL during the 2016-2017 campaign. After missing more than half of the year due to a serious injury, the speedy skater finished with 32 points in 20 games, finishing off the year with a 10-game point streak.
A member of Team East at the 2017 CJHL Prospects Game, Campoli was named an OJHL 2nd Team All-Prospect before eventually getting chosen as the OJHL’s Top Prospect, as selected by NHL Central Scouting.
Campoli is known for his accurate wrist shot and tremendous face-off winning capabilities. Campoli was one of the quickest skaters in the OJHL over the past two years and developed a strong two-way presence as well.
Campoli finished with 21 goals and 66 points in 57 games for the Rangers in two seasons. Further, Campoli will join the NCAA’s Clarkson University for the upcoming campaign as he looks to further his hockey career.
