NORTH YORK, ONT. – The North York Rangers are pleased to announce that prospect Eli Shiller was drafted to the Ontario Hockey League earlier this week, going 10th overall to the Windsor Spitfires at the second annual U18 midget draft.
Shiller, 16, played with the Vaughan Kings major midget team in the GTHL last season, while also suiting up as a backup for the Rangers in a couple of games during the winter while Jett Alexander was with Team Canada East. Prior to joining Vaughan, Shiller played with the Toronto Titans minor midget AAA team, helping his team make it to the prestigious OHL Cup in Toronto.
Shiller joins William Cuylle (Peterborough) and Lleyton Moore (Niagara) as Rangers AP’s that were drafted to the OHL this past week, with Cuylle and Moore getting selected last Saturday at the minor midget draft.
