Keegan Blasby lifted the North York Rangers to a 5-2 victory with a hat trick against the Kingston Voyageurs.
Blasby notched his first tally 5:56 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:21 into the second and at 18:49 into the third.Others who scored for North York included Ryan Takamatsu and Nick Zanette, who each put in one. In addition, North York received assists from Tyler Currie, who had two and Ted Hunt, Kyle Clarke, Michael Morgan, Grayden Gottschalk, and Adam Giacomin, who each chipped in one.
Kingston was helped by Jack Zielinski, who finished with one goal. Zielinski scored on the power play 7:38 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Voyageurs earned a power play opportunity when Matthew Galli was put in the box for high sticking. Reid Russell picked up the assist. Ian Harris also scored for Kingston. Other players who recorded assists for Kingston were Matthew Lourenco, who had one and Brandon Nadeau, who had two.
Jeremie Lintner made 23 saves for North York on 25 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. David Richer rejected 20 shots on goal for Kingston. The Voyageurs incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
