The North York Rangers have signed former NYR midget defenceman Jake Demaeyer, the club announced Tuesday.
Demaeyer, 19, appeared in 50 contests last year for the Junior ‘B’ Pelham Pirates, but played for new Rangers’ bench boss Brent Hughes with the North York midgets in 2012-13.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound native of Markham, Ont., is the club’s first signing since the hiring of Hughes after the departure of former head coach Mark Joslin to take the reigns of the Aurora Tigers.
