Otters top Rangers in shootout

The North York Rangers battled the Huntsville Otters to a 3-3 tie at the end of regulation and to the end of overtime only to lose in a shootout this afternoon at the Carnegie Arena. Rangers led 1-0 at the end of the first on a goal by Jason Kelly on a power play from Nunziato Fattore and Zach Pilote at 19:32. The Otters tied it up but Pilote restored the lead at the mid way point  from Connor Tresham and Martin Greenaway. Two late 2nd period goals by the Otters gave them their first lead by 19:16 of the 2nd. Newcomer Jesse Hebscher tied the score at 3 at 3:36 of the 3rd from Chris Dixon and Joe Serpe setting up the overtime and shootout. Only Tresham was able to score in the shoot out as the Rangers were out scored 2-1. Referees Dave Koziel and  Carlo Aletto called 19 penalties.Rangers out shot Huntsville 28-24.
