Power Play goals spark Ranger win over Dixie

Two power play goals were theĀ  difference tonight as the Rangers defeated the Dixie Beehives 4-1 at Weston Arena.Dixie opened the scoring in the first minute of the game and were shut down the rest of the way on solid goaltending by Lane Floro. Eric Desjardins tied it up at at 18:55 of the first from Martin Greenaway and Brendan Wise. Jesse Hebscher made it 2-1 at 12:23 of the 2nd from Connor Tresham and Peter Rodrigues. Wise made it 3-1 on a power play from Joe Serpe and Desjardins at 14:50. Tresham finished off the scoring into an empty net from Rodrigues at 19:53 in a rough game as referees Nick Mintopoulos and Sean Bernard called 104 minutes in penalties to the 2 teams. Rangers out shot Dixie 33-30. Next up for North York to finish off the weekend is a home game tomorrow afternoon against the high flying Couchiching Terriers who have lost only one game in regulation time this season.
