Jason Pucciarelli notched his second shutout of the year and North York extended its unbeaten streak to seven as the Rangers blanked the Georgetown Raiders 4-0 on Saturday night.
Gabriel Valenzuela’s eighth of the year at 16:24 of the first period stood up as the game winner while Liam Kerins extended his point-scoring streak to seven games with his seventh and eighth goals over that same span (14 points).
Valenzuela also assisted on Kerins’ first goal, giving him the fifth multi-point game of the campaign.
Pucciarelli has now lost only one start in regulation since Nov. 17, a span of 12 contests.
Deadline acquisitions Brandon Gaudette and Corey Helliwell were both strong contributors in their first games as Rangers.
North York is next in action Sunday afternoon for a huge Battle of Bathurst as the St. Mike’s Buzzers come in to town. The Rangers and Buzzers are tied on points in the division, though North York holds the tiebreaker with wins in regulation.
