Rangers acquire Hampton from Raiders

The North York Rangers sent forward Grant Spence to the Georgetown Raiders for Jonathan Hampton on Saturday (Dec. 1) afternoon.

The 20-year-old has register 26 points (eight goals and 18 assists) in 24 games so far this season! He played his first 10 OJHL games for the Rangers in the 2015-2016 season.

Grant Spence is currently in his first season in Junior A hockey after spending last season in the GOJHL with the Chatham Maroons. The 18-year-old has recorded six goals and 10 assists for a total of 16 points in 28 games for North York. The former Oshawa Generals  pick potted a hat trick in a 5-1 victory over the defending champion Wellington Dukes earlier this season.

Hampton will get his first chance to suit up for the Rangers on Sunday (Dec. 1) against the Aurora Tigers. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
