Adam Valadao score twice, including the game-tying goal mid-way through the third period, and the North York Rangers earned their first point of the young season with a 4-3 overtime defeat to the St. Michael’s Buzzers.
John Carpino added three assists while Gabriel Valenzuela netted his second goal in as many games so far this season.
North York dominated a penalty-filled first period that saw 14 different infractions called, but only emerged with a 2-1 lead.
St. Mike’s scored one each in the second and third to take their first advantage of the game, and then Valadao snapped a rebound from a Carpino shot high glove side for his second of the night.
The Rangers will look for their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon at the Herb when they take on the Aurora Tigers, puck drops at 3:00 p.m.
