Corey Kalk had his first two-goal game of the season, and equaled his career high in goals in a season with 14, but the Rangers could not kill an overtime penalty and fell 5-4 at Toronto.
Jacob Keogh made 27 saves in the North York net, while Nathan Colitto stopped 30 shots.
Liam Kerins and Michael Giacometti both also had goals for the Rangers who with the point hold to third in the South Division.
Derek Perl scored the game-winner for the Jr. Canadiens.
North York will look to break their three-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon when they host the Hamilton Red Wings at the Herb.
