Rangers Finish Weekend With Loss to Georgetown

The North York Rangers finished off their three-game weekend with a 3-0 loss to the Georgetown Raiders.

The first period saw another great goaltending battle between the two teams, with Jett Alexander stopping all 13 shots sent his way for the Rangers. The Raiders, who have been strong all year long, couldn’t find a way to penetrate Alexander, who kept his team in it early.

Zach Dybowski would get the Raiders on the board first. At 2:48, Austin Cho got the puck to his defensive partner Dybowski, who rifled it from the point to give Georgetown the 1-0 lead on the power play.

At 11:40, the Raiders scored again. This time, former Mississauga Chargers forward Jason Smith sent it high over Alexander’s glove from the slot, giving the visitors the advantage after 31 minutes of play. Jordan Crocker would score for the Raiders with six minutes left in the game to finish off the contest, putting an end to North York’s weekend.

The Rangers will host the Buffalo Jr. Sabres in their first Wednesday home game of the week, a 7:45 PM start at the Herb. Hope to see you there!
