Rangers Gain Two Critical Points versus St. Michael’s

Ryan Kinsella and Scott Maguire both scored short-handed goals as the Rangers took two crucial points from St. Michael’s winning 5-2 at the Herb on Sunday afternoon.

Liam Kerins added a power-play tally while Corey Kalk and John Carpino also found the back of the net.

North York’s dynamic duo of Kalk and Carpino currently sit tied for third in league scoring with 57 points after both had multi-point outings.

Assistant captain Maguire now has two goals in as many games after not scoring until Friday night’s victory in Milton.

Jacob Keogh made 24 saves in the Rangers net for his 10th win of the season, and it is the third time in the last five that he has allowed two goals or less in a game.

North York is now tied for second in the South Division with Oakville, sitting on 47 points after remaining unbeaten in regulation since Dec. 1.

The boys in blue next see action on Friday evening when they travel to Burlington to take on the Cougars – the third match-up between the two teams in 16 days. John Dean’s club has taken both games by a combined total of 10-4.

They are next at home on Dec. 30 when they will host the Toronto Jr. Canadiens for their final contest of the 2012 calendar year.
