The Ontario Junior Hockey League has named North York Rangers forward Liam Kerins a 1st Team All-Star in the regular season, the league announced Tuesday.
Kerins, 19, finished as the OJHL’s fifth leading scorer with 37 goals and 74 points in 51 games. The Caledon native also completed the campaign with the third most power-play goals in the league, tallying 13 with the man-advantage.
His strong offensive play earned him a spot on Team OJHL South for the 2013 Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge and he was also named Southwest Conference Player of the Month runner-up in November.
Possessing of a big shot and a strong frame, he scored 19 goals and 27 points in the 2014 portion of the season, a span of 17 games.
Kerins committed to Rochester Institute of Technology (D1, NCAA) of Atlantic Hockey in mid-February.
He is joined on the 1st Team by forwards Taylor Best (Whitby) and Steve Hladin (Georgetown), defencemen Michael Prapavessis (Toronto Lakeshore) and Nick Desimone, and goaltender Kevin Entmaa (Aurora).
