The North York Rangers were not in a gift giving mood as they felt they gave one away Saturday night against the same Beehives in a shootout loss. North York got off to a good start taking a 1-0 lead as Connor Tresham scored his first of two at 6:27 from Joe Serpe and Andrew Amodeo. Zach Pilote scored a huge goal at 8:01 of the second stealing the puck and scoring a shorthanded, unassissted goal to put the Rangers up by two. Dixie cut the lead in half at 10:46 but two goals in 28 seconds before the end of the period blew the game open for North York. Mike Hollander snapped  a wrist shot into the Beehive net from Joe Serpe at 17:35 and Jason Kelly made it 4-1 from Tresham and Pilote at 18:03. Dixie scored early in the 3rd at 1:31 but Tresham restored the 3 goal lead just over two minutes later from Kelly to give the Rangers the win. Referees Shawn Garrett and Niall Smith called 25 penalties in a rough game. North York is right back at it on Jan.2 as they travel to Huntsville and play the Beehives at Weston again on Jan.3 and return home on Jan.4 to take on the Couchiching Terriers who have lost only 1 game game in regulation time this season.
