Rangers offence explodes at home

Led by Tyler Flack’s hat trick, the North York Rangers offence exploded against the Markham Royal to come out with a 8-2 on Sunday (Oct. 7) at the Hebert Carnegie Arena.

The Rangers took the early advantage with Grant Spence and Nick Leshuk finding the back of within 20 seconds to go 2-0 less than six minutes in. Tyler Flack potted his fifth goal of the season at 14:35 into the opening frame.
North York continued the offence push in the second. On the powerplay, Harrison Rees recorded his first off the season off a snap shot from the point. Less than two minutes later Aidan Casey took the Austin Brimmer pass and went top corner to extend the lead to 5-0. That marked the first of four assists for Brimmer on the afternoon. Markham was able to put one past Jett Alexander later in the frame.
Flack scored the next two goals in the game, one less than a minute into the third and the hat trick marker 15 minutes later. Leshuk registered North York season-high eighth goal 19 seconds later.
Rangers stopped 36 shots to pick up a league-high eight victories.
The team doesn’t get much time off. They travel a bit north to play tomorrow on Thanksgiving against the the Toronto Jr Canadiens. Puck drop is set for 1:30 p.m. at Scotiabank Pond.
