Keegan Blasby added three helpers and the Rangers power play clicked on three of four opportunities as North York clipped the Milton Icehawks 5-4 at the Milton Memorial Arena Friday evening.

North York received goals from Nick Zanette, Chris Sekelyk, Joey Maziarz, Kyle Clarke, and James Fletcher, while the host Icehawks countered with markers from Derek McVey, Nick Leshuk, Brandon Sabatini, and Max Fortin.

The back-and-forth affair began with a Zanette power-play goal sandwiched between two Milton tallies, which were enough for Rangers bench boss Geoff Schomogyi to switch goaltenders from rookie Jacob Hutchings to starter Jeremie Lintner by the 10:30-mark of the opening frame.

Sekelyk’s goal on the power play at 1:10 of the second period tied it up, but it took the Icehawks just over five minutes to retake the lead through Sabatini; it would prove to be their last lead of the game.

Maziarz, Clarke, and Fletcher scored three straight for North York before Fortin made it interesting 7:40 from the end of regulation.

Lintner ended up with 30 stops on the night for the win, while Will Rawski countered with 28 saves for the home team.

The Rangers will play their final home game of the year at Victoria Village Arena on Sunday afternoon against South Division rival Oakville, and will finally return to the friendly confines of the Herb Carnegie Centennial Arena a week later vs. Burlington.
