North York Rangers’ defenceman Will Reilly has been selected to compete for a spot on Team Canada East for the 2014 World Junior ‘A’ Challenge.
The camp, which runs from Dec. 6-9 at Buckingham Arena in Toronto, features 40 players from all the major Tier II Junior ‘A’ leagues in the eastern region of Canada, from Ontario to the Maritimes.
Reilly, 17, has 18 points through 24 games, and leads all rookie defenders in the Ontario Junior Hockey League in goals and points.
A native of Toronto, Reilly was listed as a “C” skater for the up-comming 2015 National Hockey League entry draft, and despite the fact that his Ontario Hockey League rights are owned by the London Knights, has mentioned a strong desire to play in the NCAA.
The World Junior ‘A’ Challenge is set to run from Dec. 14-20 in Kindersley, Sask.
