Jett Alexander made 37 saves to lead the North York Rangers to 2-0 victory over the Whitby Fury on Friday (Oct. 19) night at Hebert H. Carnegie Centre.

Ross Krieger took Adam Panacci’s pass in the high slot and the assistant captain went top corner at 5:10 in the first period. Panacci joined in on the action late in the second. Ryan Grant’s point shot, hit Grayden Gottschalk and the 19-year-old batted in a bouncing puck to push the lead to two.

Alexander took it from there. The 18-year-old stopped all 37 shots the Fury threw his way. North York has not allowed a goal in four straight games. The Bloomfield, Ont., native has stopped 134 shots in that span.

The Rangers winning streak has hit seven games. The team is back in action this Sunday (Oct. 19) afternoon at the Hebert H. Carnegie Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
