Michael Morgan and Gabriel Valenzuela both added a goal and an assist but it was not enough to complete the comeback as the North York Rangers fell 6-4 to the Toronto Patriots Saturday.

Ted Hunt and Phillip Chadder also added goals while Gianluca Baggetta made 20 saves in the defeat.

Anthony Paveglio, Max Novick, Christian Zanetti, Ryan Takamatsu and Matthew Whittaker were all chipped in with assists on the evening.

Jacob Hayhurst led the way with two goals and two assists for Toronto while Brett Markham scored the winner at the 14:41 mark of the third period.

The Rangers fall to 2-3 on the season and have a quick turnaround, facing the Pickering Panthers on Sunday at 3 pm at the Herb Carnegie Centennial Arena.

North York will get a chance at revenge on the Patriots in the opening game of the Governor’s Showcase Event next Friday in Oakville as the clubs do battle at 1 pm at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.
