Adam Valadao scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, as the North York Rangers came away with their first extra-time victory of the season with a 5-4 win over the St. Michael’s Buzzers on Friday night.
Valadao now has points in 12 of his last 14 games, with seven of those being multi-point outings. He also cracked the top 10 in league scoring with 42 points in 34 games, good for eighth best in the OJHL.
John Carpino grabbed sole possession of fourth among league scorers with his two assists on the night, pushing him to 48 points in 33 games.
Rookie AP defenceman Jamie Wilson recorded his first career junior point, assisting on Zachary Fung’s third-period marker.
The Rangers currently sit in third in the South Division, two points back of the Buzzers, and moved into sole possession of fifth in the Southwest Conference, two points ahead of Georgetown.
Coincidentally, North York will take on the Raiders on Sunday afternoon at the Herb, puck drops at 3 p.m.
