For a North York side that struggled to score for much of the first month and a half of the season, things had started looking up when the team scored 17 goals in a four game stretch in the middle of November. The well started to dry up towards the end of the month though and the team had an opportunity to get back on the right track December 1st at home against the Cobourg Cougars.

First of four straight at the Herb for the Rangers with two of them coming against the Cougars. Nicolas Morvan would get the start for the second consecutive game after earning a win in his first start with the team. Despite the goalies best efforts, Cobourg got out to a 3-0 lead in the first 30 minutes of the game. Connor Irwin (7) would cut the deficit to two late in the second, but that would be the lone goal the Rangers would score in a 5-1 defeat to open the month. Morvan made 40 saves in the loss.

A quick turnaround as just two days later the Rangers hosted the Stouffville Spirit. The deja vu started early in this one, Morvan making the start and North York going down 3-0 in the first 30 minutes of the game. If that’s not enough Connor Irwin (8) scored to cut the deficit to two midway through the second period. Just under five minutes later Ervie Terwilliger (4) would make it a 3-2 game and thats where the score sat after two periods. Unfortunately none of the seven shots the Rangers threw at Stouffville goalie Kyle Downey in the third period found the back of the net and the Rangers wound up losing 3-2.

Closing out the 3 game stretch with a second matchup against the Cobourg Cougars. Trailing 1-0 at the start of the second, Tyron Fevry (1) would score on a breakaway to tie the game at one. Cobourg would score three consecutive goals outshooting the Rangers 39-18 over the final 2 periods. Dylan Dewachter made 55 saves in the 4-1 loss.
