3rd period explosion gives Rangers win over Knights

A  4 goal 3rd period for the North York Rangers broke open a tight game in a 6-2 win for the home team this afternoon at the Carnegie Arena. North York had taken a 1-0 first period lead on a goal by Zach Pilote  from Mike Mazzulla and Peter Rodrigues. Villanova tied it up on a power play at 5:09 of the  second only to have the Rangers take the lead again on a power play when Joe Serpe scored from Jason Kelly and Connor Tresham 3 minutes later. Villanova’s Dave Lansdowne tied it up with less than a minute left in the second. PeterRodrigues scored the winner from kelly at 7:04 of the 3rd and the Rangerscounted 3 more within 4 minutes as Mike Mazzulla ,Serpe, with his second and Dylan Stone rounded out the scoring to give North York the win. Referees DaveBlack and Jonathan Wallace called 22 penalties with each team scoring a powe play goal.Rangers go back to the east Friday when they travel to Lindsay.
