Blasby notches winner as Rangers outlast Pats

The North York Rangers gutted out a close 5-3 win against the Toronto Patriots Patriots.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Keegan Blasby at 4:55 of the third period.

North York was paced by Blasby, who had one goal and one assist.

The Rangers kept Toronto Patriots’ goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Standenmade 38 saves on 43 shots.

North York additionally got points from Kyle Clarke, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Joshua Dame, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Louis Kereakou, who also registered one goal and one assist. North York also got a goal from Ted Hunt as well. Other players who recorded assists for North York were Tyler Currie, who had two and Jacob DeMaeyer, Fedor Rudakov, Adam Giacomin, and Nick Zanette, who each chipped in one.

The Patriots excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. North York was unable to stop Toronto Patriots from sending pucks towards the net, and the Patriots eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Toronto Patriots was helped by Connor Beck, who had one goal. Beck scored on the power play 17:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Toronto Patriots. The Patriots had taken the advantage when the Rangers’ Christian Mitri got sent off for holding. Jake Harrisprovided the assist. Toronto Patriots also got points from Harris, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Michael Siddall, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Louis DiMatteo, Mario Ferraro, and Nicholas Ursitti, who contributed one each.
