The North York Rangers have acquired defenceman Luke Hincenbergs from the Trenton Golden Hawks, the club announced Saturday.
Hincenbergs, 20, appeared in 48 regular season and 15 post-season contests for the Golden Hawks last year, tallying eight points and adding 47 penalty minutes.
A Toronto native, Hincenbergs is 5-foot-11, and 195 pounds, and is known for an excellent work ethic, a high character level and strong defensive instincts.
He spent two years with the Toronto Red Wings midgets of the Greater Toronto Hockey League from 2011-13, where he was a teammate of Rangers goaltender Gianluca Baggetta.
Hincenbergs attended Millbrook School, a preparatory high school in Millbrook, N.Y. between 2013 and 2014, before returning to Ontario and the Golden Hawks last year.
