The North York Rangers picked up their franchise record 38th victory of the season after demolishing the Mississauga Charger 9-1 on Saturday (Feb. 16) night on the road.
Only 5 of the 20 players dressed did not record a point in the game. Dante Spagnuolo lead the way with two goals and two assists, a game-high since joining the Rangers at the deadline. The captain Grayden Gottschalk recorded his 23rd and 24 goal of the season to end with two points, while Tyler Flack’s two goals pushed his career-high to 21 goals and 41 points. Six other North York individual put up double-digit points as well.
Rangers goalie Eli Shiller made 19 saves to pick up tenth win of the season. The rookie has won seven straight games between the pipes.
North York is back in action Sunday (Feb. 17) afternoon when they host the Pickering Panthers. The team will celebrate 12 graduating players in their last home game of the regular season. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
